Law enforcement is seeking the public’s help in identifying a man considered a person of interest in the stabbing and killing of another man overnight, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.
The attack was reported at about 12:30 a.m. Sunday near the intersection of Florence Avenue and California Avenue in Huntington Park, according to LASD. There, a man was assaulted with what officials described as an “edged weapon” and died at the scene.
Investigators are seeking help identifying a man who was seen wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, black pants and white or gray shoes at the time of the stabbing. Although LASD did not say that individual is suspected of killing the victim, the department did say the man is wanted for questioning. He was last seen at the intersection of Beech Avenue and West Avenue I.
Details on what led up to the stabbing were not provided. LASD did not release the name of the victim.
Anyone with information on the case is encouraged to contact LASD’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500.
